Introduction: The “Prepared” Feeling

Hey everyone!

If there’s one thing that can sabotage a workout, it’s forgetting that one crucial item—whether it’s uncharged headphones or a bad, pre-workout snack that got you bloated and feeling uncomfortable.

Here’s how I stay consistent as a creature of habit: Once I find something that works for me, I become obsessed with it. I’m not a trainer or a nutritionist (just a regular person on my own fitness journey!), but I’ve learned a lot through trial and error about what makes a gym trip smooth.

I’m giving you a look into my gym bag to show you the essentials I can’t live without. These are the tools that keep me going, and yes, I’ve linked the specific products I personally use, just in case you’re looking to upgrade your gear!

The Gear: Essentials for a Smooth Session

These are the non-negotiables that make the actual workout comfortable and effective.

1. The Bag Itself (Style & Function)

I used to just toss everything into a regular backpack, but upgrading to a dedicated gym bag was a game-changer. I needed a bag that I wasn’t continually taking things out of and putting back in. (This prevents forgetting something!) I also enjoy a little style when I get to the gym so I’m excited to use my bag because I only use it during those gym sessions!

#1: The Bag

  • 25lb Wolfpak: “I swear by the 25lb. Wolfpak because of the separate compartments—it keeps everything organized and there’s plenty of space. If you’re looking for a similar model, [Check out the exact one I use here on Amazon].” (Disclaimer, they are a little pricey but it’s one of many fav bags! Just in case you’re balling on a budget, I’ve also included a similar option. Find It Here!

2. My Favorite Wireless Headphones

A workout without music is a workout half-done, in my opinion! These are the current heads I use and love!

#2: Headphones

  • Sony wh-1000xm5: “For lifting days, I need something reliable. The Sony wh-1000xm5 is my current favorite. I love a little bit of a chunky headphone. (If you get what I’m saying ;))The noise cancellation is great as well as the battery life! [Grab a pair for your next session here].”

3. Hydration Station: The Best Water Bottle

I love a big water jug with a side handle. But I really hate how easily they leak. After all the companies heard the complaints (about the leakages ;)) There are a lot of really great leak proof options to choose from….

 but here is my fav!

#3: Water Bottle

 The Fuel: Snacks and Supplements

I am not a dietitian, so what works for me might not work for you, but these are the simple ways I try to manage my energy pre-and post-workout.

4. Pre-Workout Snack

I need a little energy boost before I hit the weights, but nothing too heavy. I aim for something with simple carbs for quick fuel.

#4: Bloat Bowls

  • Bloat bowl: “My current obsession is the Viral bloat bowl (check it out on TikTok). They’re easy for me to digest but do not cause any bloating. [check out my version of the recipe here]

5. Post-Workout Protein/Recovery

Post-workout I like to get a little protein in to start the recovery process. Don’t get me wrong, I love cooking and experimenting, but I get a little hangry after my lift and need a pick-me-up!

#5: Protein drinks

  • Nurri: “I drink the Nurri ultra-filtered Milk Shake. There are only a couple flavors (chocolate, vanilla and strawberry) but they’ve perfected the taste. All of them are so good and come in cans so it’s super easy to just throw in your bag! [Check them out here]

6. Supplement Shaker Cup

A leak-proof shaker is an absolute necessity. I prefer one with no noise when I shake it (believe it or not) —they’re just better!

#6: Shaker Cup

  • Helimix: “Trust me, you need a good shaker. Mine is the Helimix and it’s a nice sturdy shaker, perfect for a noise free shake 😉 [Grab this must-have on Amazon].”

 The Extras: Hygiene and Recovery

Don’t overlook these small items—they can make a huge difference in your post-workout comfort!

7. Essential Recovery Tool: The Foam Roller

Okay, the full-sized roller doesn’t fit in the bag, but I keep a Foam Roller in my car for post-workout stretching. I’m always sore, and this helps so much.

#7: Foam Roller

  • Foam Roller: “My favorite recovery secret is this 321 Strong Foam Roller. It’s small but mighty, and perfect for getting into those tight spots. [Add this game-changer to your cart].”

8. Quick Freshen-Up Kit

For those days when I can’t immediately shower at the gym, I keep a small pouch with these three things:

Conclusion: Ready for Anything!
